Privacy and Security
Question: What about my password and logging in... is it secure?
Short Answer: Yes.
Long Answer: Quite. Ripmed160 is used for hashing the passwords. It's not known to have been broken,
so it's safe enough. When you register or log in your computer will hash your password (with
salt and a nonce to prevent rainbow and replay attacks, if you know what that means). The
easiest way to get hacked is having someone guess the password, so please do use a good password.
This also means that we do NOT actually know your password. We only have an encrypted version
of it. The only drawback is that if you should forget your password, we cannot send it to you, which means
we'll have to send you a verification mail and you'll have to make a new password. So keep it safe and remember
it, damn you!
