  • Happy Star Wars Day! The seasonal Lightsaber Tombstone and Second Generation Robotic Dice are now available at the BG Shop. These will be available for the new 2 weeks!
  • A bug with players being unable to select the Lightsaber Tombstone / Second Generation Robotic Dice has been fixed. Players who unlocked these can now properly use them in their account page.

  • The new Tombstones have been launched! When a player is dead, their tombstone will show instead of their dice. All players receive a default tombstone. In the BG Shop, players can unlock special Tombstones using their BG Coins. We hope you will enjoy this eye candy!

    Also, if you look at the thermometer, you will notice some new Tombstone related goals popping up later today...

  • Several Church prices have been tweaked:
    • Dispel Harmful Magic now costs 8 Rupees, down from 10.

  • Light Spell: Remove Curse now costs 3 Rupees, down from 4.
  • The Jukebox now contains over 25,000 songs and the jukebox suggestions page is back in business! Be sure to thank our jukebox admins (Silv in particular) for all their hard work!

  • Players will now get a warning when they play BGO in an old version of Firefox to help them keep their browser up to date.
  • We have upgraded some of our code libraries to newer versions. After such upgrades, new problems are to be expected. Let us know if something goes wrong via the in-game Support Ticket system!

  • Eating a Watermelon now removes Dehydration.
  • The maximum number of spaces for newly created games is now one billion (1,000,000,000) spaces, down from 2,147,483,647 spaces.

  • Effects that trigger when a player dies should now trigger consistently. A small overview:
    - If a player has Blessing of Vengeance, this will not trigger any effects that a player might have because the player is not killed but merely reflects the kill onto the killer.
    - Drain Soul triggers before any revive effects and the spells Momentum and Wormhole are interrupted.
    - After those, all the revive effects trigger. If a player is revived by a revive effect, only other revive effects will trigger.
    - If a player is not revived, Living Bomb, Life Link, Life Insurance, Married and Dehydration will trigger in that order.
    - After these effects have triggered the diseases the player has will be removed if the player did not revive.
  • Malaria now correctly moves players backward in the first phases of the disease.
  • When players die and revive through the Magic Star Effect, they will no longer lose their diseases.
  • The sub-event where the U.N. shoots at you has been tweaked. Running less than 10 spaces has become more dangerous, whereas running 10 or more spaces has become a lot safer. In addition, running 40 spaces is now 100% safe.
  • The Lemon, Banana, Banana Fish, Delicious Cake, Delicious Birthday Cake and the Candy Cane now have a sound. OM NOM NOM!

  • Happy Valentines Day!
  • The Catapult event will now display the correct name of a Wedding Ring when it is launched.
  • The Achievement widget now shows how many achievements there are in each category and how many a player has earned so far.
  • The Gun has been tweaked. Running less than 10 spaces has become more dangerous, whereas running 10 or more spaces has become a lot safer. In addition, running 40 spaces is now 100% safe.
  • Eating a Lemon now also moves you forward 2-3 spaces. Eating a Banana now moves you forward 3 spaces, up from 2.

  • The Paladin class has received a minor tweak. Divine Blessing now removes up to 2 curses or diseases and grants Divine Dice for 2 turns if an effect is removed. Divine Dice grants +5% roll streak chance. The cooldown has been lowered from 10 to 8 turns. In-game item tooltips will be updated later today to reflect these changes. In addition, the Divine Cleansing achievement is now awarded for removing 2 curses or diseases at once. This will also be visible later today in the achievement overview.
  • Blind can now be used on players who are currently shooting someone. This will allow the player who was being shot to escape.
  • Donator Taunts have been activated! Any player who has more than 3 BG Coins will start their game with the Donator Taunts skill. This skill can be used to spend BG Coins to annoy other players. Enjoy!

  • The Bear Update has been activated! Players can now use their Fish, Banana Fish, Torch, Snowballs and Dark Scroll: Death on the Bear!

  • The Priest class has received a minor tweak. Faith now gives a 20% chance to resurrect, down from 30%. The Resurrect skill now grants a target Auto Resurrection for 1 turn if the target is alive.

  • The dragon can now lay a new egg or obtain a new hoard a while after either is stolen. A new dragon can now claim the Cave as her home if the previous dragon has died. The dragon will now occasionally calm down when she was furious before. The dragon will now occasionally fall asleep when players do not visit her.
  • Poison Knockback has been renamed Delusion Poison. Its effect now ticks down when you are dead or skipping a turn.

    - Suicides now properly count as deaths for the Immortal and Ultra Killer achievements.
    - The Sound Blaster and the Donator Horn no longer count as items or skills for achievements such as Hoarder.
    - Shared Victory can no longer be obtained by winning with your team. You can now only obtain it if there is a real tie. This achievement has been reset for all players.
  • Some issues have been reported with stealing Rocket Boots and Pegasus Boots with Steal Item, Telekinesis, etc. This issue has been fixed and stealing Rocket Boots while already having normal Boots will now correctly overwrite your normal Boots.
  • The Donator Horn should be usable 3 times once again.
  • Class tweaks:
    - Barbarian -> Roar distance reduced from 15 to 14. Stamina chance reduced from 10% to 8%.
    - Succubus -> Seduction range increased from 7 to 8. Fear range increased from 6 to 7.
    - Saboteur -> Sabotage cooldown reduced from 7 to 6 turns.
    - Sorcerer -> Mana gain increased from 1 to 2. Initial mana increased from 3 to 8. Mana cap increased from 30 to 50. Frostbolt mana cost increased from 3 to 8. Frostbolt slow effect decreased from 5 to 4 speed. Frostbolt now has a 5 space Area of Effect hit radius. Telekinesis mana cost increased from 3 to 7. Telekinesis range increased from 40 to 50. Pyroblast mana cost increased from 20 to 40. Pyroblast fire radius decreased from 30 to 25 spaces. Both Frostbolt and Pyroblast can now be cast on yourself.
  • We added three new goals to expand the donation thermometer this month, because we already reached the maximum.
  • The Pocket Ball Trainer and Pocket Ball Gym Leader achievements can now properly be obtained. Players who did not receive them will receive them on their next new catch.

  • Using your Gun to start a Gun Duel should now properly work with the Gun-icon in the Event-screen. Thanks for the report!
  • The Pawn Shop seems to be bugged for a small selection of players at the moment. We have not yet found the source of this issue, but hopefully more players will report it if they are unable to enter the Pawn Shop so we can solve this problem.

  • The order in which events take priority when an item is used has been changed. If a player uses a gun first, and a potion later, he will get the gun event first, and the potion event later. Note: Some events always take priority over other events, like the Bear, and events can also be postponed when a player is dead or skips a turn.

  • Some server tweaks greatly increased the speed of our scripts. Reinforcements could take quite some seconds for the game to perform, but thanks to the improvements it all runs smoothly once again. We'll keep a close eye on game performance in the future, because games had become laggier than usual.
  • The Priest has been adjusted to not be blatantly overpowered in Team Mode. The cooldown of Resurrect is now 7, up from 3. The cooldown of Dispel Magic is now 7, up from 4.

  • Hurray! We have fixed the bug causing most games to crash. The Gandalf events were broken, causing the game to halt when Gandalf was supposed to appear.
